Why Pay More for Mens Underwear

Like all clothing, the price range for mens underwear goes from bargain basement supermarket multipacks to high couture design and technical fabrics, so what exactly are you paying for if you choose expensive underwear? Well there is no denying, a certain amount of the cost is down to the brand name, but like everything in life, you get what you pay for. Designer brands offer a lot more than a desirable label. Probably the prime reason is the quality of the fabrics used, cheap underwear tends to be made from thin cotton or jersey, which quickly distorts and looses the elasticity. Designer brands are made from quality cottons, micro fibres and technical fabrics which enable the skin to breathe and wick away sweat. These quality fabrics hold there shape after many washes and don't fade or go saggy. Designer brands tend to develop luxury fabrics which feel great to the touch. The purpose of any pair of mens underwear is to offer support, and designer brands do just that! The front pouch is very often contoured with both side seams to minimize lateral movement and a central seam to contour the shape. The opens allow for ease of access, for instance HOM have developed a horizontal opening so it doesn't matter if you are right or left handed, access is easy! No detail is left undersigned! The waist bands are still elasticated, but the difference with designer brands is that the elastic is often lined with a soft touch towelling and the stitching is discreet and again soft cotton is used. The seams and openings are bound and flat stitched for comfort and finished off so they won't come undone. And just so that your audience knows how much you value your underwear, the logo badges are a feature in themselves. Each season designer brands release a new limited edition seasonal range which features unique colours and prints as well as sleek new cuts and fabrics. So next time you are in need of a new pair of tighty-whities, remember, you get what you pay for!
